Unveiled on the Texas State Capitol grounds in late March, 2012, the Tejano monument acknowledges and celebrates notable Hispanic contributions to Texas history.  Life size bronze figures grace a Texan sourced, granite plinth, and include a Spanish conquistador, hacendado, and a Tejano herdsman and family tending to livestock.
