A simple concrete span across muddy Garcitas Creek between Inez and LaSalle, this Texas Highway 616 bridge offers a good look at the area that La Salle decided to settle. From here you can see the winding waterway La Salle and the Karankawa canoed, the plains they found teeming with buffalo, and the wild country that surrounds. This is as close to Fort Saint Louis as you're going to get.
