Fort McIntosh was an important Army post established in 1849 following the Mexican-American War. When the Mexican Revolution broke out in 1910, Army troops were deployed to protect the area from Mexican rebels. It was closed after World War II, and became the site of Laredo Junior College - to prepare returning soldiers for America’s new workforce
