Republic of the Rio Grande Museum, 1005 Zaragoza St.
One of the oldest structures in Laredo, this modest adobe building illustrates what vernacular Mexican homes were like in the early part of the 19th century.
Legend has it that this particular structure also served as the capitol of the short-lived Republic of the Rio Grande.
Continue east down Zaragoza Street toward the towering spire of the Cathedral of San Agustín.
