During the Chisholm Trail era, Refugio was a thriving market for livestock produced in the area. Housed in a log cabin reminiscent of the log cabins of pioneer days, the Refugio County Museum traces the area’s proud ranching heritage – from Spanish control to the cattle drive era to the oil boom.
