First National Bank Building, LBJ and San Antonio Streets
Next to the courthouse, this three-story structure is the most substantial building on the square. Formerly the First National Bank, this handsome, 3-story, 1909 building was "modernized" in the 1950s with a baby blue aluminum covering. The building was renovated through a public/private partnership to its original grandeur, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Notice the variety of commercial buildings as you walk north along LBJ to Hopkins. Sleuth through the historic images to see the slipcover transformation several of the buildings have undergone.
Then take a left, continuing around the square until you take a right onto Guadalupe.
