San Ygnacio Historic District

Settled in 1830, the community of San Ygnacio maintains a collection of masonry and sandstone block buildings influenced by the 18th and 19th century architectural practices of Mexico and Spain.  Interpretation of the community’s role as border settlement and outpost is on display in the local River Pierce Foundation and through guided walking tours available by appointment.
