Socorro: Rio Vista Farm Historic District

Initially conceived in the early 1900s as a welfare residence for Hispanic adults and orphans, the Rio Vista Farm became a primary processing center for Hispanic workers immigrating to Texas under the auspices of the Bracero program.  Currently, Rio Vista Farm serves Socorro residents as a community center, but onsite interpretive panels recount the history of the Bracero program.
