Waco: Texas Rangers Museum and Hall of Fame

Historically, the border between Mexico and Texas was merely political – not cultural or economic. People from both sides crossed over freely, and the region was a fluid mix of traditions.

Violence flared occasionally in the form of shootings or raids, but things went downhill in the early 1900s. when full-scale revolution rocked Mexico. Anxiety gripped Texans along the border, who feared the US government failed to send sufficient military force; so Texas called in the Rangers. Their task? To maintain order... by any necessary means.

The Texas Ranger Museum displays the history of the legendary law agency, as well as a research center for history buffs.
