Wallisville Heritage Park includes an archeological district surrounding what was once El Orcoquisac, a Spanish outpost of the late 1700s that included the San Augustín de Ahumada Presidio and the Nuestra Señora de la Luz Mission. The research center and library hold extensive documentation on the Spanish outpost and Fort Anahuac, as well as genealogical records and more than 10,000 photograph negatives from area families.
