Zapata: Zapata County Museum of History

Through the use of interactive installations, this museum presents the natural and cultural history of the broader South Texas region and the more recent history of the Zapata community.  Focusing on the submersion of the former site of the City of Zapata beneath the waters of nearby Falcon Reservoir in the mid 20th century, an image of community strength and resilience emerges from the powerful words, images and artifacts on display.
